Colombo, Sep 10 (IANS) India opener Gautam Gambir has been ruled out of the Sri Lanka One-day tri-series with a groin strain and he is replaced by fellow Delhi player Virat Kohli.
Gambhir, who has been advised rest for ten days, will be return home, says a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) statement Thursday.
Gambhir’s injury has compounded India’s problems ahead of their opening match against New Zealand Friday as the other explosive opener Virender Sehwag stayed home recuperating from a shoulder surgery.
